Die CILCA-Konferenz vom 7. bis 29. April 2009 in Pucón, Chile wird sich darauf konzentrieren, wie lokale und regionale Geschäftsinitiativen und globale politische Maßnahmen im Hinblick auf nachhaltigen Konsum und Produktion neue Möglichkeiten für die Anwendung von LCAs und Life Cycle Thinking in Lateinamerika eröffnen.
Die Konferenz wird versuchen den Austausch von Erfahrungen und Fachkenntnissen von verschieden Spezialisten weiter anzukurbeln. Besonderes Gewicht wird dabei auf methodische Werkzeuge und andere Schlüsselthemen für die Übernahme des Life Cycle Approach in den Entscheidungsfindungprozessen der Industrie gelegt. Ein weiteres zentrales Thema wird die Einführung in kosteneffektive Nachhaltigkeits-Strategien sein; bei gleichzeitiger Wahrung der Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der Produkte sowie der Einklang ökonomischer, sozialer- und ökologischer Aspekte.

CILCA 2009 will focus on how local and regional business initiatives, and global policy measures regarding sustainable consumption and production, open opportunities for using LCA and Life Cycle Thinking in Latin America.
The conference will seek to further boost the exchange of experience and expertise of various specialists. Particular emphasis will be placed on methodological tools and other key issues in adopting the Life Cycle Approach as part of the decision-making process in industry. Implementation of cost-effective sustainability strategies, while ensuring the competitiveness of products and reconciling the economic, social and environmental aspects, will also be key.
